Sorry if this post might sound too elementary. I like to get the basic right. For the coming year of Wu Zi, the year star is 1 and so the chart with 1 in the centre will be the year chart. Then, why do we have to put 6 at the central to get a new chart?

6 is at the sector of Zi..so 6 is put into the centre to have Year replace year...Hope i am right?
Thanks Xfactor. But why do we take the star at the Zi sector? Is it because it is Wu Zi year or the building sits on Zi or the door is at Zi?

Dont mention Changcm, In this instance it is the year Wu Zi (Hence Year replace year). Kenneth said it very well earlier.
From this 6 in the centre chart u can then fly another 2 in the centre chart if u want a zi door replace year.
I have another question which I think many fellow students would like to clarify as well. Why and under what circumstances do we have to do 'star replacement'? For example the above year replaces year case, why do we have to do a year/year replacement and use the replaced chart to read the year stars? Why can't we use the original year star chart with 1 at the centre(1 being the annual star for next year)to read the year stars for next year?
In another words, under what circumstances do we use the original chart and under what other circumstances do we use the replaced chart?

I feel that ZBJ is used for calculation of activation for different floors and compartments. That is why there is a need to use the floor replacement and door replacement processes. If not, all the 11 floors within the same block with the same facing and same layout will kenah activation all at the same time. I think it is due to the qi entering the house at different timings. This is only a guess.......
6 is at the zi zector...u bring 6 into the centre so that 6 becomes the centre of relativity to all sectors around. its easier to pitch and co-relate in this centre point rather than leaving 6 at original Zi sector. The stars are the same...we only bring star of focus (6 in this case) into the centre of relativity.
with regards to xfactor's comments, I tested out the annual and monthly stars into the chart in Case Study #1 and they corresponded to a good combination.
So I guess the original annual and monthly stars still fly in but we use the ZBJ to calculate activation?? (Master please advise...)
